Udhyami Mahila Producer Company Ltd. (UMPCL) has been honored with the "Chaudhary Charan Singh Kisan Samman" as the Best Farmer Producer Organization (FPO).
The award was presented on 23rd December 2024 during Kisan Diwas by Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, along with a ₹1 Lakh prize.
UMPCL, promoted by Trust Community Livelihoods (TCL) under the Sujalam Sufalam Project, supported by Tata Trusts, is a beacon of hope for women farmers in Bahraich district.
UMPCL has diversified its operations to support its members comprehensively:
Supplies seeds, fertilizers, micro-nutrients, bio-inputs, and cattle feed through collaborations with IFFCO, YARA, Bayer, and T-Stanes.
Provides affordable tractor and farm equipment rentals under the Government’s Farmer Service Centre scheme.
Runs “Apni Dukan” outlets selling vegetables, fortified wheat flour, pulses, oils, and spices.
Exports maize to neighbouring Nepal, opening new growth and market opportunities.
Since its inception, UMPCL has demonstrated strong financial growth and sustainability.
